Verified Annually, Not Assumed

Anyone can claim expertise. Few submit it for independent, annual verification. This page is that record.

I have completed and submitted my Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity to The Security Institute in four separate years since 2022, most recently 2026, each one independently assessed against the Institute's standard rather than self-declared.

What CPD verification actually means

The Security Institute is the UK's chartered body for security professionals. Its CPD scheme is not a box-ticking exercise. Members submit a structured record of their learning, professional practice and contribution to the field each year, and the Institute assesses it before issuing confirmation. Certification is annual. It lapses if the work behind it stops.

That distinction matters in a field where credentials are frequently self-declared, badge-collected or never renewed. A CPD certificate carries a date. It says the holder was doing the work in that specific year, not simply that they passed an exam once.

Duty of care, security governance and risk advice carry consequences when the advice is wrong. Competency and currency are part of how that advice should be tested, not assumed.
